Akila Ravishanka who is an outstanding sport star at Sivali Central College Rathnapura won the Silver Medal from the event (event No.413) 110 m Hurdles at Asian Youth Games , Nanjing 2013 with a time period of 13,99 seconds.
This time period was recorded as the best personal time of Akila's entire career as an athlete. The event was held around 8.40 pm on 21st of august at Nanjing Olympic Sports Center Stadium and Akila was the only representative from Sri Lanka for that event among the competitors from 8 other countries around the globe. while the Gold and Bronze medals were won by the Japanese and Chinese athletes, Akila saved the Silver medal for mother Sri Lanka as the only Silver medal which has been won by Sri Lanka with the other two Bronze medals won by Lankan athletes at this year's Youth Asian Games.
Therefore let's stand along to show our gratitude and warmly welcome this true Spirit of Mother Sivali who added a pride to Mother Sri Lanka.
